Jack is a noted expert in helping US-based families with middle to high school age students lower the cost of and pay for college by navigating the complex, stress-inducing financial aid system while still being able to retire. He’s helped hundreds of families and students (including his own two children) navigate financial aid, student loan options, and payment strategies in the context of overall family finances and retirement plans.
He's owned his own practice for almost 15 years but primarily focused on the college planning aspect for the past 6. His 2 sons have graduated college, with his youngest just graduating UMass. His wife has an almost 17 year old and 13 year old...which means he has to go through this college process...again.
And to answer a common question he gets about the firm name, Longhorn Financial:
It's a nod to his alma mater, University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Finance.
The firm is not named after a certain steakhouse restaurant chain, though Jack does enjoy a good steak!
